Alberta's regulated gambling market reaches 50 sites as enforcement begins
Alberta's iGaming Corporation confirmed its regulated online gambling market has expanded to 50 licensed websites operated by 29 companies, more than doubling from the 22 sites that launched in July when private operators were first admitted to the province.

AiGC CEO Dan Keene said 10 to 15 additional sites could launch before the end of 2026. Licensed operators now include BetMGM, Bet365, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars, competing against government-owned Play Alberta. Before regulation, roughly 70% of Alberta's online gambling activity ran through grey-market platforms.
