Renee Good's family sues Trump administration over Minneapolis ICE shooting
The family of Renee Good, a US citizen shot and killed by a federal immigration agent in south Minneapolis, filed two civil lawsuits against the Trump administration on Thursday, demanding a jury trial and financial damages over her death during Operation Metro Surge in January.
Good, a mother of three, was shot in her car by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jonathon Ross after she joined a demonstration against federal deportation operations in the city. Cellphone footage captured the moment Ross fired through the windshield, striking her in the head, arm and torso. Federal officials said the agent acted in self-defence.
The lawsuits were filed by Good's partner, Becca Good, and her brother, Brent Ganger. The second complaint names Ross alongside White House Deputy Policy Chief Stephen Miller, former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, former Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino and Trump campaign adviser Corey Lewandowski, alleging a civil rights conspiracy.
