CBS News will use Kalshi prediction market data alongside its Battleground Tracking polls for the November midterm elections, with control of both the Senate and House in play.
Kalshi's contracts currently place Democrats at 63% to take the Senate and 91% to take the House. Two races are drawing the heaviest volume: the Texas Senate contest between James Talerico and Attorney General Ken Paxton, which has recorded $16.43 million in trading and gives Talerico a 62% chance of flipping the seat, and the Maine Senate race, where $10.9 million in volume gives challenger Troy Jackson a 59% chance of defeating Susan Collins.
CBS joins CNBC, the Associated Press, and Fox News Media as Kalshi broadcast and editorial partners. The partnership extends Kalshi's position as a data supplier to mainstream election coverage at a moment when the company's sports contracts face active legal challenges in multiple states.
