Microsoft turns down multibillion-dollar AI deal with UK data centre start-up Nscale
The rejection arrived ahead of Nscale's planned IPO. Microsoft declined an option to more than double its existing contract with the UK-based AI infrastructure company at a Texas data centre, passing on a deal valued in the billions.

Microsoft gained on the session. Its decision on Nscale fits the same logic: existing infrastructure holds value precisely because new supply may face tighter approval conditions.
