Kalshi seeks fresh capital at a valuation of 40 billion dollars

Eleanor Ashworth Senior Markets Analyst ·1 sources

Kalshi is in advanced talks to raise approximately one billion dollars in a new funding round at a forty billion dollar valuation, Reuters reported on 30 September 2026.

Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management are in talks to lead the round. Tiger Global Management and Dragoneer Investment Group could also participate, according to people familiar with the matter.

The raise would nearly double the twenty-two billion dollar valuation Kalshi secured in a one billion dollar Series F round closed in May — itself double the company's December valuation. Reports of Kalshi seeking a forty billion dollar figure first emerged in June, when the Financial Times reported a deal could close before the end of the third quarter.

Kalshi, Sequoia, Wellington, Tiger Global and Dragoneer did not respond to requests for comment.

The timing is notable. Kalshi is simultaneously contesting state enforcement actions in Ohio, Tennessee and New York, and has petitioned the Supreme Court over whether its contracts constitute federal swaps. Investors appear to be pricing the legal exposure as manageable against the platform's growth trajectory.
