The United Kingdom's Gambling Commission suspended the operating licences of BresBet and Bet St George on 31 August 2026, citing suspected violations of social responsibility and anti-money laundering rules at both operators.
BresBet runs bresbet.com under licence number 065252-R-340096-002. Bet St George operates betsgeorge.com under licence number 067818-R-341699-001. The UKGC is conducting a formal review of both licences under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005.
The suspensions take immediate effect. Players cannot place bets while the licences remain suspended, but both operators are required to allow customers to withdraw existing funds. The UKGC has directed both companies to keep their customers informed throughout the review process.
The licences will remain suspended until the UKGC determines that each operator has reached a satisfactory level of compliance with UK rules.
