Marc Marquez won the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang on Sunday, taking the chequered flag for the first time since 2018 and extending his championship lead to 44 points over Jorge Martin, who did not compete after fracturing his wrist at Phillip Island the previous week.

Marquez now holds 399 championship points. If he extends his lead to 74 points at the Qatar Grand Prix, he will clinch an eighth world title with two rounds remaining.
