A $750 million casino resort owned by the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians opened in Madera County, California on October 27, one day ahead of schedule, while a federal judge has yet to rule on a neighboring tribe's bid to shut it down.
The property, operated by Station Casinos, a subsidiary of Red Rock Resorts, sits on roughly 300 acres along Highway 99 and carries more than 2,400 slot machines and 40 table games. More than 1,000 people are already employed there.
