Plus500 has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets, a New York-based SEC-registered broker, as the foundation for a US multi-asset application it plans to launch in the first quarter of 2027.
The London-listed group, which already operates in the US under CFTC regulation providing clearing and execution for futures and prediction market contracts, said the acquisition gives it direct access to the SEC-regulated securities market for the first time. The planned application will combine futures, prediction markets, stocks, options and ETFs in a single interface built on Plus500's proprietary technology.
Plus500 CEO David Zruia said the Hedge deal "paves the way" for the launch, adding that the company now has "the people, licences and technology to accelerate our growth." Hedge was founded in 2021 by Kyle Al-Rawi and Yash Khandelwal and is a member of SIPC. Plus500 will fund the purchase from existing cash. Closing requires FINRA approval under Rule 1017.
Plus500 already clears prediction market contracts from Kalshi and serves as clearing partner for the CME-FanDuel prediction market. The Hedge acquisition brings its regulatory footprint under both CFTC and SEC authority simultaneously, a combination no other prediction market clearing firm currently holds in the US retail space.
