A federal court in São Paulo granted Stake Brasil a partial preliminary injunction allowing the operator to continue running its licensed betting platform through 25 October 2026, the first such ruling in favor of a fixed-odds operator since President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva introduced Provisional Measure 1,394/2026 in late September.
Federal Judge Cristiane Farias Rodrigues dos Santos signed the order, prohibiting authorities from blocking Stake's stake.bet.br domain or imposing sanctions for operations conducted within the court's conditions. Stake had sought relief through to 31 December 2029, when its licence expires. The court limited preliminary protection to 25 October.
Law firm Bichara e Motta, which filed the lawsuit, called it the first favorable decision for any fixed-odds operator in the dispute over the provisional measure. Stake Brasil said the ruling preserved the value of licences obtained through full legal compliance, including payment of grant fees and investment commitments made before the measure was published.
