Netanyahu orders evacuation of unauthorised West Bank settler outposts

Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the removal of certain unauthorised settler outposts from the occupied West Bank, responding to sustained pressure from the United States government.

The directive covers outposts established without Israeli government approval. It does not address settlements that hold formal government sanction, which make up the majority of Israeli settlement infrastructure in the West Bank.

The move represents a tactical concession rather than a policy shift. Netanyahu's government has accelerated settlement expansion since October 2023, and the outposts now targeted for evacuation represent a fraction of total settler presence in the territory.

US-Israel relations and Israeli domestic coalition stability are both tracked on prediction markets. An evacuation order that falls short of broader settlement curbs is unlikely to move either contract materially — the action is narrow enough that neither the diplomatic nor the political resolution conditions are clearly affected.
